Wrapping Up a Long Week

This has been a long week. After getting home from a trip to visit my parents, I had a job interview for a position very different from what I do now. I wasn't sure that would go very smoothly. Fortunately, the interview went better than I expected, with very easy questions. Next week I'm on vacation and the last few days have been dragging out. One more day and then its adios for a while. Many things piling up at work for my return, though. Good thing I am fortified with plenty of this fried fish my father made in Illinois:

Tonight The Lovely S and I tried Kaz Sushi Bistro for the first time. We had jicama and seaweed salad, agedashi tofu, salmon roe nigiri, crispy salmon roll, spicy scallop roll, duck breast on Japanese eggplant, tuna and avacado roll, and for desert, espresso tapioca with bourbon ice cream. Everything was excellent. I love sushi, but don't think I know enough about it to distinguish good sushi from great sushi. Kaz is typically well reviewed and we liked it a lot. The scallop roll was definitely out of the ordinary. Delicate, fresh, clean, and light with some Japanese mayo swirled into the roll. Very nice. It definitely satisfies a sushi craving.
