The work week zoomed by after returning from vacation. I was out of the office today and S and I ran some errands and cooked a delicious dinner: Pissaladiere and roasted brocolli. If you can't tell, those are sauteed onions with thyme and garlic, anchovies, and black olives. We also stocked up for brunch at the ABC, stopped by the nursery for fall plantings, and picked up the week's groceries. We'll be making halibut in puttanesca with roasted potatoes, mushroom and pea risotto, and a bean and rice salad for lunch. The brunch menu will include spinach, cheese, and bacon quiche, "hot rocks," scones, and a fruit platter. And bloodies, screwdrivers, and mimosas, of course. At the nursery, I had to pry S away from the rack of tulip and crocus bulbs after she picked out the 15th or so. We also bought some pansies in various festive colors. They should survive well into winter for a bit of color out the window.
