Early Thursday morning, The Lovely S and I high tailed it out of town to visit the relatives for Thanksgiving in Kansas City. It was a wonderful travel experience that really made me wonder why so many people have so many travel difficulties. We all know that the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year, right? So S and I left on Thursday morning. We all know that connecting flights might be missed, right? We booked early and got a direct flight. We all know that airlines loose luggage, right? S and I took only carryons. We all know how uncomfortable airline seats are, right? We booked an airline with all business class seats (Midwest, great company). So it was quite a nice trip. Just plan ahead! Here are some pics of the family and food.
Lilly is the newest family member and she loves her new box. The BBQ is from Smokehouse. A KC tradition, but more than a little commercialized. I have come to the conclusion that I prefer Carolina style. Eastern Carolina, to be precise. Tangy, hot, and ALL ABOUT THE PORK. That other thing is dressing the way my family has always made it: with three "cream of" soups. S scoughed, but not after she tasted it. Betty Crocker lives! Then, the whole family in front of The Smokehouse. Visiting the family is fun, but it is very nice to be home.
