Mid-Week Food Update

Okay, maybe this will be a food blog. Some time ago, The Lovely S and I decided to try making our own limoncello, Italian lemon liquor. We first tasted this while vacationing in Positano and absolutely loved it (gratuitous pic of positano at left).

It is very simple. Zest about ten lemons, soak the zest in a fifth of vodka (high proof) for three weeks, strain, add simple syrup made from boiling one cup sugar with one cup water (cool the syrup first). Bottle and enjoy!

I had no idea it was that simple -- I'll definitely try it, it's a perfect summer drink.
