We planted loads of flowers on the balcony over the weekend. Well, S planted loads of flowers over the weekend. I carried potting soil bags and cheered her on over a few G&Ts. I keep forgetting to take pics of the balcony before the sun goes down.
So just imagine it: rare, prime, dry-aged NY strip sliced over arugula, olives, roasted red peppers, and bleu cheese, with lemon, EVOO, and a red wine reduction dressing, served on the balcony in seventy degree weather with the Potomac as a backdrop and lots of geraniums, verbena, and marigolds freshly planted. Ah, spring in D.C.
I will defnitely post some pics soon. Grandmother will enjoy getting a card with those garden pictures, so I can't forget!
PS- Sad news in D.C. Eastern Market, along with Bower's Dairy, burned almost completely on Monday. They are vowing to rebuild, but all that melted cheese! What a waste. And not a tortilla chip in sight! Good luck Mr. Bowers. We hope you rebuild.
