Back From Vacation

S and I are back from vacation and here are some pictures from our trip. We spent most of a week at Deep Creek Lake in Maryland and I spent the remainder of the week tinkering around the house and playing with the cats. S, I, or both of us had been gone three out of the last four week weeks, so the cats enjoyed a little attention.

The lake proved to be the perfect vacation for us. It was only a three hour drive from DC, which meant there were no airport hassles or flight delays. We just hopped in the car and drove out. We planned just one short activity everday day. That gave us plenty of time to sleep in, grill dinner, and sit in front of the fire in the evening (it was much cooler there).

On day one, the weather was not great, so we went to tour Fallingwater, just about 30 - 40 minutes away. The next day, we went kayaking, and another day to the beach. Other than that, we relaxed, read, hung out, etc. I think we will be making return trips every year. Now that we are back in DC with our summer vacation behind us, it would be nice if the temperature here would drop below 80 for a propper Autumn!

We also hiked in a Maryland State Forest.

But the boys enjoyed being back home.
